The Box T trail (#511) on Wingfield Mesa is a steep and rocky 10.5 mile one-way trail with over 3,000 ft of elevation gain from Salt Mine Road in Camp Verde. This trail is OHV friendly.
What You'll See
Box T Trail begins above the Verde River and climbs into the Black Hills. The trail begins by winding through desert scrub up into pinyon-juniper and ends at Joe Best Spring near Cienega Creek. Hikers may see birds, javelina, deer, and more in this area.
Getting There
The Box T Trailhead is located in Camp Verde, just 90 miles north of Phoenix and 60 miles south of Flagstaff. The trailhead is off Salt Mine Road approximately 4.5 miles from I17.
