SciFest: Restoring a Wetland in Kachina Village

Join us for a Guided Walking Tour of Harrenburg Wash in Kachina Village. Discover the inspiring story of how a once-dry meadow was transformed back into a vibrant wetland teeming with life. As we stroll along an easy, less-than-a-mile loop, you'll learn how this rare and vital habitat was carefully restored to support native plants, birds, and other wildlife.

Directions to Trailhead: Take exit 333 from I-17, follow directions to Kachina Village. Turn right on Kachina Trail. Turn left on Ancient Trail. Trailhead is on the left, adjacent to the Kachina Village Improvement District water treatment plant.

This special program is being offered as part of the Flagstaff Festival of Science.

The Flagstaff Festival of Science provides a collection of free science focused educational events during ’the best 10 days of the year’. We are fortunate to provide this educational tour as part of this year's festival.
